Life style modification strategy to counteract Reflux Disease:
- Lose weight
- 3 hour gap between last meal & lying down.
- Avoid bending after a meal.
- Elevate the head end of the bed by 6 inches.
- Stop smoking.
- Avoid excess caffeine, chocolate, peppermint, acidic juices & alcohol.
- Avoid fatty & spicy food.
- Avoid wearing tight clothes or corsets.
- Preferably sleep on your left side as that reduces re-flux.
- Chew Gum.
